How To Fluff a Down or Feather Pillow
To reduce our carbon footprint, we pack products efficiently. As a result, your pillow may arrive compressed. This is expected and will resolve with proper fluffing.
Fluffing Steps:
- Shake Thoroughly: Hold the pillow firmly at both ends and shake to move the fill into place.
- Firm Compression: Press the pillow inward from all sides using quick, firm compressions to loosen compacted fill. Repeat as needed.
- Refresh: Allow the pillow to rest for 5-10 minutes to regain fullness.
- For additional loft, place in the dryer on low heat for 5–10 minutes.
Ongoing Care:
- Fluff routinely to maintain height and support.
- Use a zippered pillow protector to extend the life of your pillow and help maintain shape.
- We recommend professional laundering 1-2 times per year (note: do not dry-clean). If you choose to launder at home, please use the following guidelines:
Machine wash in an over-sized machine without a center agitator in warm water with mild detergent on delicate cycle. Repeat the rinse cycle 1-2 times to ensure the detergent is completely removed.
Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
Tumble dry, medium temperature (dry well beyond the point that the outer fabric feels dry, so that the inner clusters will be fully dry. This may take 3-4 cycles. Between cycles, remove from dryer and shake to ensure consistent drying).
Do not iron.
